Objectives: To determine the serum zinc levels in children with simple febrileseizures reporting at a tertiary care hospital of Sindh. Study Design: Cross sectional study.Place and Duration: Department of Paediatrics, Layari General Hospital Shaheed MuhtramaBenazir Bhutto Medical College from January 2015 to February 2016. Methodology: A sampleof 120 children (60 cases and 60 controls) was selected through non- probability (purposivesampling) by pre defined inclusion and exclusion criteria. 3 ml venous blood was taken from aperipheral vein. Blood was process, centrifuged and sera were used for the analysis of serumzinc. Data of cases and controls was analyzed on Statistix 10.0 software (USA). P-value of≤0.05 was considered statistically significant. Results: Age of controls and cases was notedas 13.68±8.74 and 15.75±9.11 months respectively and most common age group was 12 - 24months in the cases. Male children predominated. Cada profissional vigente atua de maneira focal nas diversas areas de abordagem humana, seja fisica, psicologica ou social. Neste âmbito, em relacao aos casos de violencia sexual infantil, a dinâmica de inter-relacao das profissoes faz com que facilite a resolucao da problematica, atuando na reconstrucao moral, biologica e mental das vitimas. Nessa perspectiva cabe ao medico encaminhar, tratar e notificar os casos identificados por ele. Por vez, o Agente Comunitario de Saude (ACS) tem a funcao de investigar o meio intrafamiliar da crianca, e o conselho tutelar atua de maneira ativa na apuracao da denuncia. Ja o psicologo podera atuar no tratamento diante dos impactos comportamentais causados a vitima. Da mesma maneira, os assistentes sociais, educadores, farmaceuticos, nutricionistas, enfermeiros, e profissionais da area juridica tornam-se auxiliadores no processo de intervencao dos casos de violencia sexual infantil.
