Introduction

This guide provides information about the content of the Gift Bag #5 – Relics of Rivellon[forums.larian.com].

You will be able to find:

  • Screenshots detailing the stats of each Armour Set, including any Set-specific buff and mechanic they provide;
  • A per-Act checklist that indicates what you should collect or complete during each Act before leaving it so as not to miss any Armour Set piece.

The guide makes use of spoiler tags and external links when providing information, so you can use it to consult only the specific pieces of information you are after.

However, please note I won’t be hiding the names of the Armour Sets, as it would greatly affect readability.

Checklist per Act

This section provides a checklist of items to collect or steps to perform in each Act before the last in order not to miss any set piece.

In other words, if you collect everything on the list for a particular Act, you can leave the Act without missing out on anything happening in the next Acts related to the Relics of Rivellon.

The checklist is provided with spoiler tags so you can check only the information relative to the Act you are playing without spoiling the next.

FAQ

Q1) I can’t find anything related to the Relics of Rivellon in my game!

Answer: the content related to the Relics of Rivellon is only enabled when you start a new game. If you load a save from a game started before version 3.6.64.2709 (Gift Bag #5), your game won’t include the new content.

Q1) I can’t find the Armour piece <XYZ>, where should I look?

Answer: this guide is meant as a checklist and intentionally remains vague as to where everything can be found outside of the general Act. For more detailed steps, please see a dedicated walkthrough, such as this one[screenrant.com].

Armor Stats

Below you can find screenshots showing the stats of the 4 Relics of Rivellon Armour Sets.
The screenshots are provided as links to avoid spoilers.

The screenshots describe the stats as well as the specific buffs, debuffs, and mechanics of each Armour Set.

You can also find the same content (without spoiler tags) in this Google Spreadsheet[docs.google.com], though unlike the screenshots it might not be displayed properly on mobiles.

Captain Armour Set

Stats & Mechanics

To note: there is a bug that happens during the upgrade of the set.
When equipping the full Captain Armour Set, the Set will upgrade to level 8.
However, your Gloves and Leggings will also be upgraded to level 8 even though they’re not part of the set.
This is because the code does not properly check whether a particular piece of equipment is part of an Armour Set before upgrading it.

The underlying reason is that when a set is complete, the game will try to upgrade your Boots, Gloves, Helmet, Leggings, and Chest Armour.
Since the other 3 Armour Sets have a piece for all those slots, the bug does not happen with them. It only happens with the Captain Armour Set because it lacks both a Gloves and a Leggings piece.

Vulture Armour Set

Stats & Mechanics

To note: there is a bug that can affect the closure of the quest but not the acquisition of the set itself.
Every time you obtain a piece of the set, the game increments a counter to keep track of the number of pieces you managed to acquire. Normally, you can only get 5 of them.

Since technically, you could craft the same piece multiple times, the game closes the quest when it registers you obtained 5 pieces but not the full set (e.g. you crafted the Boots, Gloves, Helmet, and twice the Chest, but not the Leggings).

However, the game increments the counter when you obtain a piece of the set regardless of whether or not it’s a “new” piece or not. So, you could craft the Boots (Counter = 1), drop the Boots, and pick them up again, and the counter would increase (Counter = 2 in that case). So if you craft the Boots, and then drop them and pick them up again 4 times, the counter will get to 5 and the quest will close.

It has no bearing on your ability to continue crafting the other pieces though, the bug only affects your Journal.

FAQ

Q1) I have acquired all the pieces from a set. Why doesn’t it upgrade to the level mentioned in its set bonus?

Answer: you need to equip the set in full on a single character for the set to automatically level up to its mentioned level.
Also, some sets require specific steps before they can be upgraded:
– The Vulture Set: if you have the cursed set, it must be cleansed before its set bonus unlocks. You can do so by casting Bless on the pieces or the character wearing them.
– The Devourer Set: you must complete the quest before the set bonus unlocks and the set can be upgraded.

Q2) Are there any benefits to equipping part of a set, such as partial set bonus?

Answer: no, there are no partial set bonuses. You need to equip the full set to unlock the set bonus.
